The final big rally for the Ravens in Harford County before the Super Bowl is being held today (Friday) at noon in Bel Air.
The super Purple Pride Ravens Rally will be held in the county government's parking lot at the corner of South Main Street and Churchville Road. The rally runs until 2 p.m.
As of 7:30 a.m. Friday the rally is still on. There are snow showers in the Bel Air area but, according to the National Weather Service, the snow will clear out by 11 a.m. and give way to breezy sunshine with a high of about 31 degrees. Only minimal snow accumulation is forecast.
The Purple Pride Ravens Rally is co-sponsored by the Harford County government, Harford County Public Schools, Harford County Public Library, Harford County Chamber of Commerce, Town of Bel Air and the Bel Air Downtown Alliance.
According to the county government, food and drinks will be available on site for purchase. No alcohol will be permitted on the lot. Local businesses providing food and beverages during the rally will include the Dark Horse Saloon, WOLO Mobile Food Truck offering a "New Orleans" style menu and ShopRite.
A number of prizes and giveaways will be available throughout the event. Donations are being provided courtesy of ShopRite, the United Way, M&T Bank, Poor Boy Sports, as well as from an unnamed private donor, according to a county government media release. Embroid Me will offer T-shirts and other Ravens items for sale, and MDimages will have framed Ravens photos and collages for sale, according to the release.
The Purple Pride Ravens Rally will include showmobile, face painting and photos with a Ray Lewis cutout. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed Ravens fan and for best Ray Lewis dance.
Tyler Daniel from WXCY Radio in Havre de Grace will serve as emcee for the rally.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
