Harford principals shift

New principals have been assigned to eight local public schools and three interim principals have been given permanent assignments to their schools for the 2014-2015 school year.

Among the 11 principals on the list, three of them are serving as interim principals at the schools they have been assigned to for next year.

They include Ronald Wooden of Havre de Grace Elementary School, who was named Assistant Principal of the Year by the Maryland Association of Elementary School Principals in March.

The other two are Tara Dedeaux, acting principal of Bakerfield Elementary School in Aberdeen, and Christina Douglas, acting principal of Church Creek Elementary School in Belcamp.

Principals at new schools include Michael Thatcher, who is transferring from his position as principal of the alternative education program at the Center for Educational Opportunity in Aberdeen to C. Milton Wright High School.

Thatcher will be replaced by Kilo Mack, an assistant principal at Aberdeen High School.

Gregory Lane, an assistant principal at Edgewood Elementary School, will be the principal of Deerfield Elementary School, also in Edgewood. Deerfield's principal, Celeste Klima, has been reassigned as principal of Dublin Elementary School.

Aberdeen Middle Principal Chandra Krantz will be the new principal of Havre de Grace Middle School; she will switch roles with Havre de Grace Middle Principal Anthony Bess.

Kathleen Garafola, an assistant principal at Red Pump Elementary School, has been promoted to principal of Jarrettsville Elementary School; the current principal will retire.

Rose Martino, an assistant principal at Bel Air Elementary School, will be the principal of Roye-Williams Elementary School in the Havre de Grace area; the current principal will retire.

Twelve-month assistant principals include Helen Miller, assigned to Aberdeen High School; Micah Humbert, assigned to Aberdeen Middle; Matthew Koester, assigned to Bel Air Middle School; Lamark Holley, assigned to Edgewood Middle School; Tracy Hill, assigned to Havre de Grace Middle; and Randy Geyer, assigned to the John Archer School.

Ten-month assistant principals include Regina Jones, assigned to Aberdeen High School; Robin Smith, assigned to Abingdon Elementary School; Rebecca Spencer, assigned to Bel Air Elementary School; Ayn Ford, assigned to Church Creek Elementary; Lisa Minutoli, assigned to Churchville Elementary School; Jeanna Gentile, assigned to Edgewood Elementary; and Michael Cuneo, assigned to Fallston Middle School.

Additional 10-month principals include Anjanette Cook, assigned to Forest Hill Elementary School; Kristen Mang, assigned to George D. Lisby Elementary School at Hillsdale in Aberdeen; Alison Donnelly, assigned to Hall's Cross Roads Elementary School in Aberdeen; Jennifer Gasdia, assigned to Havre de Grace Elementary; Christian Slattery, assigned to Jarrettsville Elementary; Paul Single, assigned to Joppatowne Elementary; Reginald Perry, assigned to Red Pump; Karen Petr, assigned to Ring Factory Elementary School in Bel Air South; Tracey Hanus, assigned to Riverside Elementary School; Kimberly Kron, assigned to Roye-Williams; and Kathleen Hobbs, assigned to William S. James Elementary School in Bel Air South.
