A 13-year-old girl was flown to a Baltimore hospital after she was hit by a car while crossing Route 22 in Bel Air on Monday evening, Maryland State Police said.
The girl was not in a crosswalk when she walked across Route 22 about 100 feet east of Route 543 at about 6:24 p.m., Sgt. Chatfield of the MSP Bel Air Barrack said.
"The vehicle did not see her because she was wearing dark clothing," Chatfield said.
The girl, who was not identified, was flown by State Police Medevac to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center with non-critical injuries. Chatfield said he believed she had a broken leg.
Chatfield did not know exactly where the girl is from but said she is "local."
