An overnight fire extensively damaged a home in Darlington, the State Fire Marshal's Office said.
Damage to the single story home with an attached two-car garage in the 1800 block of Robinson Mill Road is estimated at $400,000.
"The home is considered a total loss," the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said in a notice of investigation.
The fire was discovered around 11:40 p.m. Thursday by a neighbor, the Fire Marshal's Office said in a notice of investigation.
More than 50 firefighters from fire companies in Harford, Cecil and York County, Pa., fought the fire in sub-freezing temperatures before bringing it under control in about 30 minutes, the Fire Marshal's Office said.
Volunteer fire companies responding included Darlington, Level, Jarrettsville, Bel Air, Whiteford, Delta-Cardiff and Water Witch.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause remains under investigation.
