Thank you for your recent article on Andrea Rigdon, Harford Soil Conservation District's (HSCD) first woman supervisor.
The HSCD is a political subdivision of the State of Maryland and as such each supervisor must take an oath of office at the beginning of his/her five-year term. Our board meetings are open to the public and generally occur on the first Wednesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. at the office. Call 410-838-6181 for information.
The National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) has women in all leadership positions: Executive Board, National Board of Directors, Regional Chair, State President and District Chair. The NACD membership consists of about 3,000 districts nationally representing 17,000 elected or appointed public officials in 58 states and territories from the Virgin Islands to Guam. Please visit the NACD website at NACDnet.org to learn more and become a friend of NACD.
