Harford schools cancel weekend activities; HBC 'Nutcracker' rescheduled

With a winter storm expected to cross the area on Saturday morning, all Harford County Public Schools weekend activities have been canceled.

One major event that will be affected is Harford Ballet Company's performances of "The Nutcracker" on Saturday and Sunday at Aberdeen High School. Both be moved to next Friday.

According to an HCPS media advisory, all school-sponsored activities and those activities scheduled to be held in school facilities or on school property are canceled on both Saturday and Sunday.

Activities scheduled for Friday afternoon and evening are not affected and will go on as scheduled, the advisory said.

'Nutcracker' rescheduled

With Aberdeen High being closed this weekend, Friday, Dec. 20, is the snow date for both performances of "The Nutcracker," Harford Ballet Company Executive Director Kait Weber wrote in an e-mail.

Saturday ticket holders are asked to attend a 7:30 p.m. performance next Friday at AHS; Sunday ticket holders are asked to attend a 5 p.m. performance next Friday at AHS.

Weber said the Tea Party with Clara has to be cancelled completely and all ticket holders will receive a full refund in the coming days.

"If for any reason you do not see a refund come through by next Friday for tea party tickets only, please contact our office at 410-877-077," Weber said.
