Glassman names Howard McComas as campaign chair

State Sen. Barry Glassman (R-Harford) recently announced that local businessman and community leader Howard K. McComas IV will chair the Glassman for Harford County Executive committee.

McComas is president of McComas Funeral Home, which has been providing services in Harford County since 1808. He is part of the sixth generation of the McComas family in funeral service.

Active in the community, McComas serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Harford County and is a former member of the board of trustees for Harford Community College. He is also the former chair of the Harford County Republican Central Committee and a former board member of the Harford Conservative Business Caucus. He previously chaired Bob Ehrlich's gubernatorial campaign in Harford County.

Born and raised in Abingdon, McComas lives in Bel Air with his wife, Cheryl, and sons Howard V and Reagan. He graduated from Edgewood High School and earned a bachelor of science in business administration from Appalachian State University.

"Sen. Glassman has a strong record of leadership and accomplishment both during his time on the County Council and as a delegate and senator in Annapolis," McComas said in a press release. "He has always been a strong advocate for small businesses, while championing efficiency in government and pushing for a quality education for our children. As both a business owner and a father, these are all things that are important to me."

McComas continued, "Barry is a good family man and someone with homegrown Harford County values. He is exactly what this county needs at this time, and I am pleased that I can help in the effort to elect him as our next county executive."
