Girls volleyball teams from Bel Air, C. Milton Wright and Harford Tech each took another step forward in region tourney play Monday at the quarterfinal level. All three will play in respective semifinals Wednesday.

Both North Harford and Havre de Grace lost in region tourney play Monday, ending their seasons.

Bobcats sweep

Bel Air's win came in three sets over visiting Eastern Tech in Class 3A North play. The scores were 25-9, 25-15 and 25-11.

Bel Air's leaders were Tia Williams, 13 kills; Celeste Roland, six kills and six aces; Amanda Rodriguez, three kills, 24 assists and three aces; Jackie DeLuise, six kills and three aces; Kendall Daley, four aces and six digs; and Rien Hachmann, six aces.

Mustangs beat Franklin

CMW traveled to Franklin and won 3-2 in 3A North. The scores were 14-25, 25-9, 20-25, 25-22 and 15-11.

The Mustangs were led by Lena Sharesky with 14 kills, Tori Smith with 10 kills, Alexis Cuffee with four blocks and Alyssa Horton with 32 assists.

Cobras upset Elks

Harford Tech also posted a 3-2 win, beating host Elkton in 2A East play. The scores were 16-25, 25-20, 25-22, 10-25 and 15-8.

Leading the Cobras were Ashley Huster, two aces, five kills and three solo blocks; Brittney Chavis, one ace, three kills, two assist blocks and one solo block; and Alyssa Hockaday, one ace, three kills and one assist block.

Hawks beaten by Bulls

North Harford lost in 3A North play, 3-0 to visiting Hereford. The Bulls winning scores were 25-19, 25-10 and 25-18.

Guiding the Hawks were Morgan Knox, seven kills and five digs; Sam Pappas, one ace and five kills; and Syd Billings, one ace, four assists ad three digs.

Warriors also lose Monday

Havre de Grace was beaten 3-1 at Perryville in 1A North action. The scores were 25-23, 17-25, 17-25 and 13-25.

Friday action

North Harford and Harford Tech were winners in girls volleyball first-round regional playoff action Friday.

North Harford defeated visiting Patapsco, 3-0, in Class 3A North play. The scores were 25-17, 25-10 and 25-16.

Leading the Hawks were Morgan Knox, 11 aces and three kills; Britney Fleming, four aces and two kills; Sammi Moore, five aces and one kill; and Sam Pappas, two aces and four kills.
