"Having to overcome the challenge of having to play a player-down for over 60 minutes because of a red card and two penalty shots awarded to McDonogh in the first half, proved to be too much for John Carroll in their IAAM semifinal match," Patriots head coach Gary Lynch said.

John Carroll won Thursday in quarterfinal action, 3-1 over Bryn Mawr. Olivia DiFonso, MaryKate Gerety and Jordan Clarke each scored goals and Sophie Centi was credited with one assist.
