The Edgewood Rams girls soccer team inched a bit closer to a UCBAC Susquehanna Division title Monday night with a hard-fought, 2-0, win over a pesky Havre de Grace team.

The Rams (6-0 league, 9-2 overall), who scored both goals in the second half of Monday's win, can clinch the division with a win at Perryville on Wednesday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

In Monday's win, Havre de Grace (4-2, 5-5) put up a valiant effort in the first half and likely had the best scoring opportunity late in the half.

Lauren Herrington's shot glanced off the far post and a return shot from Kara Nieberlein slid past the opposite post.

Edgewood then needed just 1:20 into the second half to get on top. A corner kick from Caitlin Rankin was headed in by Ladae Boykin. Caitlin Rankin then added the Rams second goal with assist from sister, Alyssa Rankin.

Edgewood goalie Allison Bomhardt had one save in the win and Havre de Grace keeper Riley Arnold was much busier, making 23 saves.
