One person was flown to a regional trauma center by Medevac following a single car accident Sunday night in the Forest Hill area, according to the Harford County Fire & EMS Association and the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.
The accident occurred around 9 p.m. in the 1300 block of Walters Mill Road near Route 543, according to Facebook posts by the fire company and the fire and EMS association.
Bel Air fire company personnel, with assistance from Darlington Volunteer Fire Company personnel, extricated and treated two people from a vehicle that ran off the road, the fire company’s post said.
Photos from the scene showed the vehicle had overturned after going down an embankment. The later Harford County Sheriff’s Office’s accident report states the vehicle involved, a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, was traveling west on Waters Mill Road, swerved to miss a deer, glanced off a utility pole and went down an embankment, overturning and trapping both occupants.
“Alcohol impairment suspected,” the report also states.
The accident report identified the driver as Jason Michael Hardesty, 27, of Ocean City, who was driving a vehicle owned by Derek R. Hardesty of the 1200 block of Walters Mill Road. The passenger was identified as Lawrence Bock, of the same address on Walters Mill Road as the owner of the vehicle.
Jason Hardesty was flown by State Police Medevac to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Bock, according to the report, was taken by Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company ambulance to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.
