North Harford (10-4) got on the scoreboard first with an unassisted goal by Becca Rinaca at the 18:24 minute mark of the first half.
CMW answered back just a few minutes later with a goal by Eckert, assisted by Sabrina Rhodes.
The score remained 1-1 through the rest of regulation play and two 10-minute overtime periods.
The game was decided during penalty strokes when the first four CMW strokers - Sabrina Rhodes, Gallagher, Jachelski and Halley - all watched their strokes find the back of the cage, signaling the win.
Mustangs goalie Sydney Rhodes was credited with eight saves during regulation and OT play.
Cougars beat Mariners
Also Thursday, Fallston shut out Joppatowne (8-5), 5-0, in 1A North played in Havre de Grace. The Cougars scored three times in the first half and twice more in the second.
Jenna Caldwell got the scoring started with an assist from Lindsay Summers, followed by Perfetti with an assist from Elizabeth Hebert. Stephanie Appel rounded out the first half scoring of another assist from Summers.
Bailey Graf opened the second half scoring with assist from McDiarmid, who then ended the scoring unassisted.
Bel Air (7-7) saw its season end at Hereford in 3A North after a 6-0 loss. The Bobcats trailed 3-0 at the half.
Bel Air goalie Meghan Mingioni had 10 saves.
Huskies ousted too
Patterson Mill (5-8-1) was also beaten Thursday, falling 2-1 to North East in 1A North action in Havre de Grace. No further details were made available.
