Mustangs take OT win
The Chesapeake Division field hockey champs closed their regular season Tuesday with one more impressive victory, as the C. Milton Wright Mustangs (10-1 overall, 6-0 Chesapeake) notched a 1-0 double-overtime victory over host North East.
In the second sudden-death overtime period Tuesday, with the game still a scoreless tie, the Mustangs' Maggie Gallagher tucked away the winning shot with an assist from Sabrina Rhodes.
CMW goalie Sydney Rhodes had six saves.
North Harford over Bo Manor
The North Harford Hawks (8-3 overall, 3-3 Chesapeake) took a non-division win Tuesday, beating visiting Bo Manor, 5-0.
Shannon Mansberger scored twice in the victory, while Sarah Jackson and Rachel Baca each had one goal and one assist. Julie Dolinar scored once for the Hawks, while Sophie Crowther posted one assist.
Bel Air defeated
Bel Air (8-3-1 overall, 3-2-1 Chesapeake) took a 4-2, home-field loss to the Perry Hall Gators Tuesday.
Jessica Vazquez scored the Bobcats first goal with an assist from Judy Yurkofsky.
Bel Air's second goal came from Madison Healy, who scored unassisted.
Joppatowne defeats Aberdeen
The Joppatowne girls (6-6 overall, 4-3 Susquehanna) earned a road victory over Aberdeen (0-12 overall, 0-7 Susquehanna), beating the Eagles, 1-0, in overtime.
In the second minute of the first sudden-death overtime period, Joppatowne's Darrisha Small scored the game-winning goal.
