CMW beats Century 3-0 in Wednesday field hockey contest

The C. Milton Wright Mustangs took a field hockey victory on their home turf Wednesday, beating the Century High squad, 3-0.

The game's first goal came late in the first half, when Madie Adams scored on a penalty corner with an assist by Audrey Boroshok.

Early in the second half, Haley Matthai gave the Mustangs a 2-0 cushion, scoring with a helper from Sabrina Rhodes.

Rhodes sealed up the win for the CMW, scoring her team's final goal on a scorching shot after taking a feed from Jenny Eckert.

CMW goalkeeper Sydney Rhodes had seven saves.

Fallston shuts down Aberdeen

The Fallston girls rebounded from a tough weekend, during which they suffered two tournament losses, by whitewashing host Aberdeen 7-0 on Wednesday.

Fallston's Erin McClelland netted a hat trick to lead the winning side's offense.

John Carroll ties

The John Carroll Patriots had to settle for a 3-3 tie with visiting Maryvale Prep on Wednesday.

The game ended in a 3-3 deadlock after neither team scored in overtime.

Leading the Patriots was Katie Sullivan, who had a pair of goals. Lindsay Kraus scored once for the Patriots, while Claire Grunewald and Grace Richards both supplied one assist.

Edgewood over Havre de Grace

Edgewood defeated visiting Havre de Grace Wednesday, 2-1.

Julianne Reif had one goal and one assist in the victory, while Summer Howard scored one goal.

Havre de Grace's goal came from Taylor Gross.

Edgewood goalies Lizzy Neuman and Lissette Yeargain had three and five saves, respectively.

Bel Air over Franklin

The Bel Air Bobcats earned a field hockey victory Tuesday, beating the host-team Franklin, 4-1.

The win put Bel Air at 1-0 on the season.

Jessica Vazquez led the Bobcat offense, scoring a pair of goals and handing out one assist. Samantha Keesey netted one goal in the victory, and teammate Carolyn Todd had one goal as well. Bel Air's Judy Yorkofsky and Anna Farley both registered one assist.

Harford Christian beats Elkton

The Harford Christian girls won on the road Tuesday, beating Elkton, 2-1.

The score at halftime was tied, 1-1.

Julia Smith scored the Eagles' first goal, while Lissie Druyor netted the winning side's second tally. Both goals were unassisted.

Harford Christian goalie Haley Stephens had three saves.

Tech topped

The Harford Tech field hockey squad was knocked off, 5-0, on Tuesday by visiting North East.

Harford Tech goalie Kenady Schwinn had 10 saves in the loss.

The Cobras trailed, 3-0, at halftime.

The loss dropped Harford Tech to 1-1 on the year.
