"Black Swans III" will be among the works of Susan Amons on display at Liriodendron in Bel Air through Dec. 15. (October 22, 2013)

The work of an artist from Maine will be on display for seven weeks beginning Sunday at the Liriodendron Mansion in Bel Air.

An opening reception for Susan Amons will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 at the mansion, 502 W. Gordon St. At 1:30 p.m., Amons will give an informal talk on her printmaking process and her inspirations.

The show will continue through Dec. 15; gallery hours are 1 to 4 p.m. on Sundays. For more information, call 410-879-4424.

Amons holds a bachelor of arts in painting from Massachusetts College of Art. She has received 21 artist fellowships from the Women's Studio Workshop in New York, the Vermont Studio Center, Jonson Vermont and most recently from the Helker-Lahotan Foundation on Great Cranberry Isle, in Maine.

Her work is included in the public collections of the Portland Museum of Art, the Farnsworth Art Museum, the New York and Boston Public Libraries, the Indiana University Fine Art Library, the University of New England Art Gallery, Colby, Bates and Bowdoin College Museums and the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University, in New Jersey. Amons exhibits her prints and paintings in galleries throughout New England, New York and Maryland.

One gallery room will be dedicated strictly to horse art.
