Josh Vecchiolla, 26, is poised to open a new business in Bel Air called LUSTRE Mobile Detailing Parlour, and to herald the start of the operation he is organizing a charity bikini car wash, car show, and BBQ at the Main Street Tower restaurant on May 5.
Planned for 2 to 8 p.m., the event will feature women washing cars, and anything else with a motor. The Tower will provide all the eats, with a BBQ pit beef stand serving various pit meats and drink specials all day. Local bands will start the event's soundtrack from 2-4 p.m. followed by live DJ performances by Harford County natives Kimzl, Logun, Jigga and DJ Doido taking event goers into the early morning hours. A raffle for a free mobile auto detail valued at more than $200 will be up for grabs in addition to other raffles and giveaways.
The new mobile business, which can be reached at 410-877-5519, offers detailing starting at $15. Price includes hand and power wash with chamois dry, wheel clean, and tire dressing. Additional services such as a quick interior vacuum, wipe down, and high speed polishing and waxing are also available.
LUSTRE and The Tower will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Ms. Wheelchair Maryland Organization, a non-profit, non-partisan group. The goal of Ms. Wheelchair Maryland and Junior Miss Wheelchair Maryland is to select two spokeswomen to represent the disability community at large. These young women are called upon to strengthen public perception toward disability, serve as mentors to others, and demonstrate how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) benefits all Americans. Last year's title holder and Bel Air native Courtney Wallace will be on hand during the event.
Vecchiolla inherited his love of cars and entrepreneurial spirit from his family, saying in a press release, "My father and grandfather always took pride in their vehicles and keeping them maintained, and I started detailing them at a young age."
Detailing everything from motorcycles and cars to RV's to watercraft, LUSTRE's services range from a simple wash and wax to full body paint correction.
