The Bel Air Bobcats earned a home-court victory in boys volleyball Thursday night by knocking off the C. Milton Wright Mustangs, 3-1.
The hosts grabbed a 1-0 lead with a 25-22 victory in the first match, but CMW was able to even the contest with a 25-23 win in the second game. Bel Air wrapped up the victory with back-to-back wins of 25-15 and 25-19.
CMW's John Grotke had 15 kills, three blocks, one ace and one dig. Justin Pezzella put up two kills, two aces, one dig and a team-best 23 assists in the loss, while teammate Kyle Fishler had six kills and three blocks.
North Harford over Havre de Grace
The North Harford Hawks won their Thursday home match with the visiting Havre de Grace, beating the Warriors in three straight games.
The Hawks won the match with scores of 25-15, 25-22 and 25-15.
Leading Havre de Grace in the loss was Sebastian Pruitt, who had 12 kills, four digs and one ace. Josean Ponce had two kills, one ace and a team-best five digs in the loss, while teammate Sean Darney put up 10 assists and two aces. Paul Butz racked up two digs for the Warriors, while Randy Sorrentino and Glenn Joseph both had two digs. Waseem Sidik notched one dig for Havre de Grace.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
