The Bel Air Bobcats defeated the visiting North East Indians, 19-4, Wednesday in an UCBAC Chesapeake Division matchup.
The Bobcats, who have won four of their last five games, improve their overall record to 5-2 and 3-0 in league play.
"We came out sluggish to start the game, which we were not very happy about," Bel Air coach Scoop Kelly said. "We need to play consistently right from the first faceoff until the last whistle."
Joey Creaghan, a junior committed to UMBC, led all scorers with seven goals and two assists, while Tom Pfeiffer, also a junior, added two goals and four assists.
Senior Carson Kalama (Salisbury) tallied two goals and three assists and senior Parker Jones, also headed to Salisbury, contributed four goals and an assist.
Also adding to the scoring were Garrett Utz, two goals, two assists; Brad Casale, two goals; Mike Bush, two assists; and Chris Noll, two assists.
The Bobcat defense was all over the visiting Indians, which was key to the Bobcats victory. Sophomore goalkeeper Gavin Hanley had four saves through three quarters, while junior goaltender Pete Santimays came on to make two saves.
"It took us until the third quarter to really click offensively, which we can't do next week as we play a tough North Carroll team followed by rival C. Milton Wright," Kelly said.
Hawks beat Huskies
North Harford stayed unbeaten (8-0), beating host Patterson Mill, 13-6, in Chesapeake action under the lights Wednesday. The Hawks led 5-2 at the half.
Brooks Billings and Max Mullin each scored three goals to pace the Hawks (2-0 league), while Randy Foster and Will Duley had two goals apiece. Andrew Siegel, Andrew Kropkowski and Ryan Feiss each had one goal.
Billings and Kropkowski had two assists each and Foster and Mullin had one each.
North Harford played two goalies, with Cameron Brosh making six saves and Matt Goedeke making one.
Patterson Mill (0-3 league, 3-5 overall) was led by Josh Wilson and Sam Caretti, both of whom scored two goals. Brendan Egan and Tyler Levandowski had single goals.
Egan and Caretti also had assists. Huskies goalie Will Urban made 14 saves.
Mustangs beat Warriors
C. Milton Wright earned a Chesapeake win Wednesday, beating visiting Havre de Grace, 13-7.
Alex Meholic led the Mustangs (2-1 league, 8-2 overall) with four goals and Ben Boyd netted three goals.
Alex Kleinberg also scored multiple goals, with two, while single goals were scored by Andy LeBrun, Paul Mirable, Jon Amos and Drew Kissner.
Lebrun added three assists, while Meholic, Mirable and Amos each had two assists. Boyd and Manny Mastromanolis had one assist apiece.
