The Havre de Grace boys lacrosse team picked up a big win Wednesday night, going on the road and beating Patterson Mill, 9-6, in UCBAC Chesapeake Division play.
The game was tied at 3 through one quarter and the Warriors (1-1 league, 4-1 overall) led, 5-4, at halftime.
Colin Dean scored three goals to lead the offense and Kyle Barkley had two goals and two assists.
Jordan Hawthorne, Casey Brown and Nick Burley each added a goal and two assists. Chris Parrott also scored a goal.
Dean, Burley and Barkley led with four ground balls each. Shawn Greeley and Terrell Surrette had three each and Parrott, Brett Wilson and Sonny Smith had two apiece. Parrott also won 11 faceoffs.
Greeley added two takeaways and goalie Jacob Laubner made eight saves.
Noah Hollaway and Isaiah Welch scored two goals each for the Huskies (0-1, 2-3). Luke Sharretts and Rudy Beck added single goals. Hollaway and Welch also had two assists each and Beck and Sharretts had one apiece.
Cougars beat Bobcats
Fallston beat hostBel Air, 12-9, Wednesday evening in Chesapeake action. The game was tied at the half, 7-7.
Ben Claffee, Dylan Wolf, Nick Esser and Andy Stump scored two goals each to lead the Cougars (1-0, 3-1). Kyle McKeever, Ryan Buckler, Matt Wollenweber and Brad Smith netted single goals.
Wolf dished out three assists, while single assists were credited to McKeever, Justin Williams, Esser, Stump and Ian Dickens.
Tom Pfeiffer and Dave Lotz led Bel Air with three goals each. Brad Casale scored two goals and Austin Tredinnick scored one.
Hunter Jewitt dished out two assists, while Lotz, Garrett Utz, Casale and Jack Lewis had one assist each.
Fallston goalie Liam Wilcox finished with seven saves and Bel Air keeper Gavin Hanley had 10 saves.
Cobras beat Tigers
Harford Tech opened its Susquehanna Division schedule Wednesday, beating host Rising Sun, 8-5.
Rising Sun jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead, but the Cobras battled back and trailed by one, 3-2, at the half.
The Cobras dominated play in the second half, scoring six times to go up, 8-4, and eventually win by three.
Leading the offense for the Cobras was Steven Mills' three goals and one assist. Griffin Pfarr added two goals and an assist as did Nick Letts. Brandon Winand had a goal and an assist.
Goalie Chris Stallings led the defense with 25 saves.Trevor Crehan had four takeaways and Brett Grube also had three takeaways.
Aberdeen was a winner in Susquehanna play. The Eagles (1-1, 1-3) beat visiting Edgewood (0-3, 0-3), 13-9.
North Harford (3-1) defeated Northeast-A.A., 13-7, in tournament play and Joppatowne (2-1, 3-2) lost at Bo Manor, 13-11, in Susquehanna play.
Stats were not provided for either game.
Cobras beat Indians
Harford Tech defeated visiting North East Tuesday night, 8-3, in non-division play.,
The game was highlighted by outstanding goalie play by both teams.Tech keeper Chris Stallings led the Cobra defense with 20 saves and Alex Miller kept North East in the game with his play, according to Cobras coach Jim Stallings.
Ethan Bulger, Trevor Crehan, Colin McLean and Jordan Waite controlled the ground ball action for the Cobras and effectively shut down the Indian offense. Steven Mills and Nick Letts each were 7-for-7 on faceoffs.
Brandon Winand paced the Cobras scoring with three goals, followed by Brett Grube and Mills with two goals each. Nick Letts added one goal.
Also Tuesday, Joppatowne (3-1) defeated visiting Tome School, 15-10. Stats were not provided.
