The Town of Bel Air is set to introduce the Town Administrator's Budget for FY 2015 next week, Town Administrator James D. Fielder Jr. said.
"We've been focusing on putting a balanced budget together," Fielder said during a Board of Town Commissioners work session Tuesday.
Fielder said he and Lisa Moody, Bel Air's director of finance, have been working on the budget.
The commissioners are expected vote to introduce the new budget during its town hall meeting next Monday.
Following the introduction, the town will hold public hearings to discuss the FY2015 budget, Fielder said. He said the budget will also be reviewed by all the town's department heads.
Renovations to Plum Tree Park are moving forward as scheduled, but bad weather slowed down progress on Shamrock Park, said Kevin Small, director of planning.
The fencing in Plum Tree Park should be erected by the end of the week, Small said, and volunteers from Bel Air United Methodist Church are scheduled to paint the fence later this month.
Shamrock Park contractors are working on completing the wiring for the bandshell so Maryland Sound can put in the speaker system, Small said.
He said the speaker wiring and set-up process will probably take about two weeks to complete.
The playground equipment will be delivered in April, he said. Small said the fountain will not be completed until the summer.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
