Bel Air tops Patterson Mill in boys soccer, 2-1, Thursday

There's no better neighborhood rivalry than when the newer school – Patterson Mill – faces a team from the older school that the newbie was carved out of - Bel Air.

There was another installment Thursday night of what promises to be a never-ending series of battles between the two schools separated by a hop, skip and a jump along Route 924.

The Bel Air Bobcats (5-3 overall, 2-0 Chesapeake) earned a home-field victory on Thursday, handing a 2-1 defeat to the Patterson Mill Huskies (6-2-2 overall, 0-1-2 Chesapeake).

Bel Air's goals were scored by Brandon Tolson and Kyle Warner.

Austin McKinney and Logan Szekalski each dished out one assist in the victory.

Bel Air goalie Ryan Han notched two saves.

The Bobcats led at halftime, 2-0.

CMW over Hereford

The C. Milton Wright Mustangs (3-5 overall, 0-1 Chesapeake) earned a road victory on Thursday, beating the Hereford Bulls, 1-0.

Alex Cantor scored unassisted in the second half for the game's only goal.

CMW goalie Logan Keys notched four saves in the victory.
