Two patients taken to hospitals after Route 924 crash in Bel Air

Two people were taken to area hospitals with unknown injuries after a five-vehicle crash at Route 924 and Ring Factory Road in the Bel Air area this morning, spokesman Rich Gardiner of Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association said.

It was originally reported that "multiple" patients were involved.

They were taken to Bayview Hospital in Baltimore and Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Sgt. Forchion of Maryland State Police.

She did not know how many patients were involved and said troopers are not allowed to disclose the seriousness of their injuries.

The crash was reported at 8:28 a.m. and tied up traffic for about an hour, she said.

The vehicles involved included an SUV, a crossover and two passenger vehicles, she said.

She also did not know the exact circumstances of the crash, explaining the trooper is still investigating.

"This is the complexity of it," she said.
