Fifty-five children escaped safely from a fire at a day care center in Bel Air on Thursday, the state fire marshal's office said. The fire was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m. at the Celebree Learning Center on Agora Drive in Bel Air, according to Deputy State Fire Marshal Joseph Zurolo. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it appears to have originated in an unused kindergarten room in the one-story structure, he said. The children were taken to a nearby building to be picked up by their parents. The fire caused about $175,000 in damage, Zurolo said.
