High school golf teams were back on the tees and greens Thursday, just two days after a competitive District VII Tournament.
Fallston, which led the scoring of all Class 1A-2A schools on Tuesday, was a winner again Thursday at Mountain Branch Golf Course in Joppa.
The Cougars, led by three players who shot 42, scored 220 to beat Bel Air, 244, in dual match action.
Everett Cox, Will Creery and Michael Corona were the Cougars to shoot 42, while Zach Barkhorn added a 44 and Sophia Fellner carded a 50.
Josh Stoccum shot 47 to lead the Bobcats, while Jared Clelland shot 48 and Drew Johnson shot 49. Ryan Menchen and Dylan McQuarrie each shot 50.
Hawks, Panthers tie
North Harford and Perryville both shot team scores of 227 Thursday at Furnace Bay Golf Course in Perryville. Aberdeen was third with 234.
North Harford junior Jake Nemeth shot the low round of the day, a 41, to lead the Hawks.
Wyatt Biensach was a stroke back at 42 and Sarah Hendrickson finished with a 43. Derek McManus, 46, and Nick Lyons, 55, rounded out the Hawks scoring.
Justin Eldreth and Matt Mannone paced Perryville, each shooting 43. Matthew O’Neill added 45 and Jordyn Pollitt finished with 46. Teno Christofano added a round of 50 to the Panthers scoring.
Aberdeen’s Audrey Moon shot 42 to lead the Eagles. and Hunter Shiesser shot 44.
The other Aberdeen players and scores were Ryan Feathers, 47; Edward Honadel, 49; and Noah Roberts, 52.
Tech wins quad match
Harford Tech defeated Edgewood, Tome and North East in a quad match at Chesapeake Bay-Rising Sun Golf Course.
Edgewood has just one golfer, so the team score was determined by each team’s best golfer.
Adam Haviland shot the low round of the day with a 38 to earn the win for Tech. Luke Riley of North East came in second with a 40 and Nate Pierce for Tome placed third with a 55. Bennett Schmiegel of Edgewood shot a 65.
Although the match was determined by one score Tech shot its low team score of the season with a total of 223. Others contributing were Loy Clements, 43; Brandon Huffman, 44; Tim Kalzkowski, 48; and Adam Flenner, 50.
Huskies win tri-match
Patterson Mill won a tri-match over Bo Manor and Rising Sun at Winters Run Golf Course in Bel Air.
Patterson Mill shot 216 to Bo Manor’s 241 and Rising Sun’s, 271.
Patterson Mill sophomore Paula Moon, fresh off her District VII title, continued her solid play Thursday, shooting 40 to lead all players.
Bo Manor was led by Jacob Hicken-Bailey, 45, and Rising Sun was paced by Robbie Stickley, 42.
