Busy golf day leads to wins for four Harford teams

All eight Harford County golf teams were in action Thursday with dual and tri-match action in Harford and Cecil counties.

At Patriots Glen Golf Course in Elkton, C. Milton Wright scored 209 to beat Aberdeen’s 227. Host Elkton had just three players, so three player scores were 120 for CMW; 127 for Aberdeen; and 171 for Elkton.

CMW’s Michael Cummings shot 38 to lead all scorers. Cummings eagled the par five, ninth hole with a downhill 20-foot putt for his 38.

Temmates Alex Mattes, Talen Lurz and Connor Hunton each shot 41 and Hunt Tenckhoff added a 48.

Hunter Schiesser led Aberdeen with a 39 and Audrey Moon shot 41. Ryan Feathers added a 47, while Edward Honadel and Noah Roberts both shot 50.

Caden Hartten shot a 49 to lead Elkton.

Cougars beat Cobras

Fallston shot 201 to beat Harford Tech’s 231 in a dual match at Ruggles Golf Course.

Will Creery backed up his incredible round of 34 earlier in the week to shoot a team-best 38. Everett Cox added a round of 39, while Josh Sacker and Michael Corona both shot 40. Zach Barkhorn contributed a 44.

Adam Haviland also shot 38 to lead Tech and Loy Clemens carded a 39. Other Tech players were Brandon Huffman, 49; Drew Erhardt, 50; and Adam Flenner, 55.

Huskies beat Bobcats

Patterson Mill was a winner at Winters Run Golf Course, shooting 214 to beat Bel Air’s 227. Edgewood also participated, but with just one golfer.

Paula Moon and Michael Montgomery both shot 38 to lead the Huskies.

Ryan Menchen and Josh Stoccum both shot 44 to lead the Bobcats.

Edgewood’s lone golfer, Bennett Schmeigel, finished with a 69.

Hawks beat Tigers

Jake Nemeth and Derek McManus both shot 39 to lift North Harford past Rising Sun, 211-245, at Chesapeake Bay-Rising Sun Golf Course.

Wyatt Biensach and Sarah Hendrickson both shot 44 and Austin Bach added a 45 for the Hawks win.

Robbie Stickley was Rising Sun’s top player with a 41.

Panthers win

Perryville was also a winner at Furnace Bay Golf Course. The Panthers shot 215 to beat Bo Manor, 233, and North East, 255.

Jordyn Pollitt and Matt Mannone both shot 39 to pace the Panthers win. Justin Eldreth shot 42 and Matthew O'Neill shot 43. Rounding out the Panthers scoring was Teno Cristofano with 52.

Will Smethurst shot 41 to pace Bo Manor and Zach Lockard carded a 46 to lead North East.
