For the third time in three days there was a tie in girls soccer play of the UCBAC’s Chesapeake Division.
Thursday’s tie took place at Patterson Mill, where the Huskies (1-0-1, 5-2-1) and Harford Tech Cobras (0-1-2, 3-3-2) couldn’t produce a goal between them through two regulation halves and two additional OT periods.
Patterson Mill keeper, Marie Claire Cicenia finished with six saves and Tech goalie, Jordan Althoff made three saves.
Bobcats edge Cougars in OT
There was a Chesapeake game that didn’t end in a tie. It was at Bel Air with the Bobcats (2-0, 5-3) edging the Fallston Cougars (0-1-1, 2-4-2), 2-1, in overtime.
Fallston was the home team, but the game was played in Bel Air due to the turf field issues at Fallston.
Bel Air senior and the school’s all-time goal scoring leader, Lexi Kraemer, put the Bobcats on top early on. Kreamer handled a through ball from Mackenzie Wallace and finished it.
Logan Ward tied the game midway through the second half. Ward headed the ball in with an assist from Grace Tarrant.
The game then went to the OT period and Carolyn Doheny scored the game-winner assisted by Grace Wehland. The shot came from about 30 yards out.
“Tough fought physical game played by both teams. Very proud of our girls and how they bounced back from an early Bel Air goal only three minutes into the game,” Cougars first year coach Carlie Andrews said.
Bel Air goalie Jill Kodak finished with eight saves, while Alayna Eufemia had 10 saves for Fallston.
