The North Harford field hockey team earned a big win Wednesday afternoon in Pylesville. The Hawks (2-0, 4-4) edged the Fallston Cougars (1-1, 5-2), 1-0, in a UCBAC Chesapeake Division game.
North Harford junior Ariel Limpert scored the game’s only goal on a penalty stroke in the second half of play.
Older sister Skylar Limpert, the Hawks steady goalie posted the shutout with 10 saves.
Fallston keeper Megan Dudick made three saves.
Bobcats beat Huskies
Bel Air (1-1, 2-5) picked up its first Chesapeake win on Wednesday, beating visiting Patterson Mill (1-1, 4-5), 3-1.
Julian Vazquez scored in the first half with an assist from Ali Chmielewski. The Bobcats led the game 1-0 at the half.
In the second half Peyton Hale and Brooke Steg added goals for Bel Air and both were assisted by Bailey Springer.
Patterson Mill also scored in the second half and the trailed 2-1 until the final minute. Sydney Beck scored the goal, assisted by Jasmine Sabol.
Bel Air goalie Chelsea Gostomski had 10 saves and Patterson Mill goalie Emily Pascoe made 14 saves.
John Carroll (3-1, 4-4-1) came from behind to beat IAAM B conference rival and host Mt. de Sales, 2-1, in overtime on Wednesday.
With 3:30 left in the game, Audrey Barnhart redirected the ball to Ellie Bruggeman who soundly drove the ball in for the tying goal.
In overtime the momentum carried over as two corners were forced, giving the Patriots the upper hand. Ashlee' Kothenbeutel set up Kendall Rittmeyer for the game winner with two minutes left in OT.
John Carroll goalie Alexis Loder recorded six saves and the team won its third overtime game of the season.
Cobras beat Warriors
Harford Tech (2-0, 3-1) was an easy winner in Susquehanna Division play Wednesday, shutting out visiting Havre de Grace (0-2, 1-5), 6-0.
Scoring stats for the Cobras were not provided. Havre de Grace goalie Tori Jacobs made 15 saves.
