Bel Air, CMW set for boys soccer showdown

The UCBAC boys soccer showdown is set.

C. Milton Wright and Bel Air both improved to 3-0 in Chesapeake Division play Monday and the two will meet Wednesday for the important win. The game is set for 6:45 p.m. at Bel Air.

CMW ‘s win came at home where the Mustangs (6-0-2) defeated Aberdeen (0-4, 5-5), 5-0.

Conner Appleby scored twice to highlight the scoring, while single goal scorers were Brett Lindsey, Grayson Hichkad and Jake Spurlock.

The Mustangs also had assists from Jayson Butler, Sean Fleming, Ryan Lindsey and Ethan Dolezal.

CMW goalie Ryan Miller made one save and Aberdeen keeper Carlos Alvarez finished with nine saves.

Bobcats beat Hawks

Bel Air (7-1), meanwhile, was a 2-1 winner over host North Harford (2-1, 4-5).

The game was scoreless at halftime. Bel Air goals were scored by Ethan Lassen and Vince Rose, assisted by Connor Lorenz and Arthur Jackson, respectively.

Bobcats Jake Fiacco had five saves in the win.

Cougars nip Huskies

Fallston (2-1, 5-3) used a goal in the final minutes to beat host Patterson Mill (2-2, 7-3), 1-0, Monday night in Chesapeake play.

Christo Hodrogiannis scored the game-winner with three minutes left in regulation.

Kyle Moody played the ball to Hodrogiannis at the 18. Hodrogiannis then fired his shot inside the corner of the far post.

Rams edge Tigers

Edgewood (3-1, 4-5) beat host Rising Sun (3-1, 4-4), 3-2, Monday in a come-from-behind Susquehanna Division win.

Ryan Dean scored all three goals for the Rams. J.P. Markowski and Taran Rowell were credited with an assist each.

Interim goalie Cedrick Ofori contributed to the win with 10 saves.

Warriors lose late

Havre de Grace (1-3, 1-7) lost a heartbreaker Monday night, 3-2, to visiting Bo Manor (1-3, 3-6) in Susquehanna play.

Bo Manor scored the tie and winning goals in the last three and half minutes of the game.

Morgan Sherman scored both goals for the Warriors. Bo Manor goals were scored by Brandon Teixidor, with two, and Chris Bainbridge.

Havre de Grace keeper Aaron Toepfer had 12 saves and Bo Manor goalie Matt Lynn finished with 17 saves.

Mustangs tie Curley

CMW went on the road Friday and tied highly-ranked Archbishop Curley, 2-2, in non-league action. The Mustangs led 2-1 at half.

Brett Lindsey scored both CMW goals, with Dolezal adding both assists.

Nick Richardson and Brandon Knapp scored goals for Curley with assists from Ben Stitz.

Miller had 15 saves in goal for the Mustangs and Curley goalie Wdzieczkowski had five saves.
