The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is warning of significant traffic delays on Route 152 (Mountain Road) in Joppa Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for Sen. H. Wayne Norman Jr.’s funeral service at Mountain Christian Church.

Delays are also expected along Route 152 and several other major roads in Fallston, Hickory and Bel Air following the service, when the funeral procession leaves Mountain Christian Church and travels to Bel Air Memorial Gardens, where Sen. Norman will be laid to rest.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the procession to the cemetery will travel along Route 152 to Route 1 to the Bel Air Bypass, exiting the Bypass at Conowingo Road (Route 1). The procession will then travel south on Conowingo Road to Moores Mill Road and to the cemetery entrance on Moores Mill, Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Kyle Andersen said.

Moores Mill Road will be closed between Rock Spring Road (Route 924) and Ma & Pa Road to accommodate those attending the burial, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Sen. Norman, who represented legislative District 35 covering northern Harford County and northern and western Cecil County, died suddenly at his Bel Air home Sunday at age 62.
