As the proud president of an anchor institution in Harford County, I would like to thank the community for its support during Harford Community College's 60th anniversary year.
Community is a key part of our name, and community is what we are all about. If you earned your degree at Harford Community College, you are part of our community, our family. The same is true if you taught a class, learned a new skill or attended a concert, camp or sporting event on our campus. You are a valued member of our community.
While our two signature anniversary events, Harford Fest in October and Illuminate in March, brought more than 2,400 supporters to campus, many other activities demonstrated what Harford Community College is all about – yesterday, today and in the future.
Over the past year we celebrated our 60th anniversary with historical campus walking tours; an outstanding exhibit about the College's history in the Hays-Heighe House; a moving oral history documentary plus events as varied at the National Geographic Live Speaker Series, Heather L. Hurd 5K Spooktacular and a concert featuring a Bee Gees tribute band. We celebrated off-campus, too, at Harford Night in Annapolis.
Together, we have accomplished great things over the first 60 years of Harford Community College and look forward to an even brighter future as we move toward the next 60 years. To that end, the College invites the entire Harford County community to our Nov. 9, 2018 Future Summit. The Future Summit will be an opportunity for the campus community and Harford County to come together and begin work on the College’s strategic plan.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to your being part of our community, our family, for many years to come.
