A truly important community event, “Pathways to Recovery: National Strategies to End Opioid Addiction,” is happening this Thursday evening, Sept. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Bel Air High School, 100 Heighe St., in Bel Air.
Bertha Madras, Ph.D. served on President Donald Trump's Presidential Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis. Dr. Madras is a nationally recognized, highly respected expert on the addiction epidemic that is destroying the lives and futures of so many people and families in Harford County, across Maryland and throughout America.
Dr. Madras will discuss solutions to this crisis on how, as individuals and as a community, we can improve prevention, treatment, and recovery services. She will explain how the disease of addiction affects the brain. There will be question and answer time.
Admission is free. You do not have to RSVP. This is a tremendous opportunity for us to hear and learn from one of America's most knowledgeable clinicians.
