Pray for Capital-Gazette shooting victims and our Capital City [Letter]

The Aegis

The following is reprinted from this week’s Aberdeen Advocate, the City of Aberdeen’s e-newsletter:

To the residents, leaders and friends of Annapolis. The Mayor, Council, staff and citizens of Aberdeen are shocked and deeply saddened by the extraordinary event that took place in our sister City, Annapolis, last week.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the friends and families of those who were affected.

While there is a wonder and beauty to life, that is often tempered with the sometimes exceptionally crushing times in which we live. The sad, senseless and shameful shootings at the Annapolis Capitol Gazette newspaper is a reminder of the delicate fragility of life and the engulfing pain a single person or incident can inflict.

We pray that some grain of understanding between those who differ in discourse can be found in what has transpired and that we all learn from it. We also say to those who live and work in Annapolis that we stand with you as you grieve.

May God Bless Annapolis, our Capital City.
