Jarrettsville's Herbert Cox to hit the century mark Nov. 28 [Letter]

The Aegis

Herbert Booker Cox, a life-long resident of Jarrettsville will turn 100 years old on November 28th.

He is the beloved patriarch of his huge family, who will be celebrating with him; including four children, nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was married to his late wife Marie for 63 years.

Before his retirement, Mr. Cox was a welder for Bethlehem Steel in Baltimore and a farmer. He has been very active in his church, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.

He believes in family, faith in God, and hard work. He currently enjoys watching the Orioles on television, listening to Bible programs and visiting with family.

Dad's life of hard work has benefited him in his golden years; he is mentally sharp and physically strong.

We are hopeful that his good genes will be passed down to us.

Susan Brock
