Ambulance Corps a Toys for Tots dropoff site

Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps is again a drop-off location for the 9th Annual Toys for Tots Campaign & Stuff the Ambulance Toy Drive.

This year, it is also asking for in stocking the shelves for the Success Project Food & Paper Pantry.

The Ambulance Corps, the Marine Corps Reserves and the Toys for Tots Foundation have designated the Havre de Grace Ambulance Corps station as a drop-off location. They are looking for new, unwrapped toys or clothing items that will be distributed to needy children in our community during this holiday season.

Over the past eight years, the Ambulance Corps has consistently been one of the largest Toys for Tots drop-off sites in the state.

This year the Ambulance Corps has also teamed up with the Havre de Grace Housing Authority Success Project to help collect food and paper products. Along with your toy, you can also drop off an item for the Food and Paper Pantry.

The Ambulance Corps will accept all new, unwrapped toys and new clothing at their station, 1601 Level Road, any day of the week between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Just look for the Toys for Tots sign up on the hill.

On Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, the Ambulance Corps will "Stuff the Ambulance" with new, unwrapped toys and clothing item. Santa will joining volunteers with hot chocolate, candy canes and cookies for all who drive through and donate a new toy or clothing item and a canned good and/or a paper item.

Food items the pantry needs include jelly and jam, vegetable oil, canned and boxed pudding, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, ketchup, dry noodles and pastas, bread and muffin mixes, cake and browning mixes, honey, salad dresing, canned tuna and chicken, canned nuts, raisins, canned and boxed 100 percent joice, macaroni and cheese, pancake mix, coffee, tea and hot chocolate, sugar and flour, syrup, canned beef stew and chili, canned vegetables and soup, applesauce, canned pastas, cold cereals, crackers, gravy, mayonnaise, powdered milk, baked beans, canned fruit, rice and rice mixes, noodle mixes, hot cereal mixes, stuffing mix and spieces.

Paper items that can be donated to the pantry include toothpaste, bath soap, laundry supplies, batteries, toothbrushes, sanitary products, cleaning supplies, lightbulbs, shampoo, incontinence products, toilet paper, napkins, deoderant, paper towels, dental floss and trash bags.

Bags can be dropped off at the Ambulance Corps or the Housing Authority, 101 Stansbury Court, during regular business hours by Dec. 21. Tax deductible cash donations can also be made directly to the Housing Authority.
