Following up on Thursday's first night of girls basketball play, C. Milton Wright and Bel Air each opened their respective seasons Friday with victories.

CMW knocked off host Fallston, 37-34, overcoming Fallston's 21-12 lead at the half.

Lauren Haggerty led the Mustangs with eight points and Emma Hahner pulled down 10 rebounds.

Megan Shock, Maddie Swinehart and Alisa Schmidt each scored six points to lead the Cougars.

Bobcats beat Cobras

In Bel Air's 62-23 win over visiting Harford Tech, Meagan Barnett and Natalie Neff each scored in double figures to pace the winners. Barnett pumped in 15 and Neff finished with 10.

Katrina Yaroshevich scored nine points to lead Tech. Bel Air led, 35-9, at the half.

Eagles, Huskies open with wins

Aberdeen started the new girls basketball season the same way it ended last season - with a win.

The Patterson Mill girls also won their first game as the winter sports season opened Thursday evening.

Aberdeen built a 12-point halftime lead, 26-14, at Severna Park on the way to a 50-31 win. Stephanie Jones led the Eagles with 23 points on eight field goals, two from three-point range and only one of seven foul shots. Kierra Palmer scored 21 points on two field goals, five three-pointers and two of her three foul shots.

Patterson Mill beat Notre Dame Prep, 56-35. Qalea Ismail scored 22 points for the winners. Khayla Mitchell scored 14 and Chyna Latimer scored 12.
