Man reported stabbed by estranged wife's acquaintance in Edgewood

A man was reportedly stabbed by another man in his estranged wife's Edgewood residence, the Harford County Sheriff's Office reported early Sunday evening.

The incident was reported just before 6 p.m. in the 600 block of Harr Park Court, according to fire officials.

The estranged 35-year-old husband, later identified as Donte Johnson, came to the residence and confronted his wife, later identified as Donna Brown, 35, who was with an unidentified male acquaintance, Sheriff's Office spokesman Edward Hopkins said via e-mail.

"A fight ensued where the 35-year-old male attacked the male acquaintance," Hopkins said Sunday evening. "The male acquaintance, in defending himself, stabbed the 35-year-old twice. The woman was not injured."

Johnson was stabbed once in the leg and once in the abdomen, Hopkins said.

On Monday afternoon Hopkins said investigators are not sure if the male acquaintance stabbed Johnson because he was defending himself. He said Johnson is reported to weigh about 250 pounds and the male acquaintance is described as about 140 pounds.

According to Hopkins, Johnson and the unidentified man got into a fight and "fists were thrown." During the middle of the fight, Johnson stood up and said he was stabbed. The unidentified man then fled the residence and police were called, Hopkins said.

Johnson suffered from non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Hopkins said. He said Johnson was released early Monday morning.

It does not appear anyone involved in the altercation will pursue charges at this time, Hopkins said Monday afternoon. He said police are still investigating and working to identify the male acquaintance.
