Boy, 15, shot in stomach during argument in Edgewood, police say

A 15-year-old boy suffered a non-life threatening injury after he was shot during an argument in Edgewood on Monday night, the Harford County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1800 block of Grempler Way in the Edgewater Village neighborhood at 8:05 p.m. Monday for a report of a shooting with one victim, the Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

When they arrived, deputies spoke with the 15-year-old victim, who had been grazed in the abdomen by a bullet, according to a Sheriff's Office news release issued Tuesday.

EMS units from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene to treat the victim; however, the boy and his mother refused transport to the hospital, the Sheriff's Office said.

"Deputies determined that a male and female were arguing," the news release states. "Another male started fighting with the male subject who was arguing with the female. Then a third male, reported to be friends with the male who was arguing with the female, pulled out a handgun and fired at least one shot grazing the 15-year-old's stomach."

According to the Sheriff's Office, deputies were working several leads which may help identify the individuals involved, as the investigation continues.
