An Abingdon man has been charged with sexually abusing a boy while working at The Arrow Center for Education in Bel Air.
Keith Edwin Brooks, 40, of the 500 block of June Apple Court, was ordered held on $350,000 bail by Harford County District Court Judge Victor Butanis during a bail review Tuesday.
Brooks allegedly molested a 14-year-old boy, whose family he met while working at the Arrow school, which the boy attended, assistant state's attorney Christopher Tabone told the judge.
He allegedly let the boy stay in his bed and fondled his genitals, Tabone said.
Brooks was also arrested in 1999 for similar charges at the Arrow school, he said.
Brooks was arrested Friday and is charged with two counts each of sex abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense and second-degree assault.
Brooks' lawyer, Margaret Mead, said her client was working at The Arc in Belcamp, graduated from high school and attended college and has no prior criminal record.
Butanis cited the "very serious nature of the allegations" in deciding to leave the bail at $350,000.
