A certain 1970s "supergroup" will be bringing joy to Havre de Grace's world, come August.

Three Dog Night will be this year's headliner at the annual Havre de Grace Seafood Festival, organizer Lori Maslin told the city's council members Monday.

Five of the seven original band members, known for hits like "Joy to the World" and "One," will perform Aug. 8 next year at Millard Tydings Park.

Tickets went on sale earlier on Monday and are going fast, Maslin said, with people from as far as Nebraska and Virginia already buying them.

She said "inner circle" party seats are limited this year, as the band requested a 30 percent reduction in the number of those VIP tickets.

"If you're interested, get to us really quickly," she said.

Three Dog Night had more Top 40 hits and sold more concert tickets than any band of its era, Maslin said.

The opening performance will again be children from Baltimore's School of Rock.

"They love coming up and being with us," she said.

Tickets can be bought for $35 to $55 at http://www.SeafoodFestival.TicketLeap.com. More information is available at http://www.HdGSeafoodFestival.org.

The Seafood Festival runs from Aug. 8 to Aug. 10.
