Aberdeen woman charged with stabbing man

An Aberdeen woman is facing assault charges after allegedly stabbing a man in the torso early Saturday morning.

Harford County sheriff's deputies were called to the 1800 block of Mitchell Drive in Aberdeen around 3:20 a.m. Saturday for a report of an assault with a knife.

It's unclear how the victim, Ronnie Graul, was stabbed, but Heather M. Carlton, 32, who lives at the Mitchell Drive address, allegedly admitted to doing it, according to charging documents.

When deputies arrived, Graul was lying on his back in the driveway, with what appeared to be a stab wound to his upper torso. Carlton was kneeling over him rendering aid, according to the court records. Aberdeen Fire Department medical personnel treated Graul, who was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.

Two other people were also at the home – a woman who was "extremely intoxicated" and lying face down on the driveway when deputies arrived, and another man who also lived that the Mitchell Drive address. The woman told deputies she had no idea what happened and had no recollection of events after she and Graul were brought to the home by the second man.

When deputies questioned Carlton and the second man at the southern precinct, Carlton allegedly admitted to stabbing Graul. She is charged with first- and second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon; she was released from Harford County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
