Pennsylvania man wins Perryville triathlon

Congratulation to triathlete Brian Lovett of Allentown, Pa., who was the overall winner of the Diamond in the Rough competition in Perryville this past weekend.

Congratulation to Hunter Ritter, formerly of Perryville, who now attends John Carroll in Bel Air, on advancing in the Cadet Greco-Roman national finals in the 182 weight class at the ASICS/Vaughn Junior and Cadet National Wrestling Championships in Fargo, N.D.

Congratulations to the Perryville Little League All Stars on their second straight District 5 title.

Congratulations to Dennis Bolen, who sponsored a crab feast at Ripken Stadium this past Friday night, July 12. Even with the rain, many friends and family members enjoyed the IronBird's game, free baseball caps and all the steamed crabs, hamburgers and hot dogs, beer and soda you could eat. Joyful Noiz the contemporary band at St. Paul's Lutheran Church will be playing at the Aberdeen Festival Park Free Summer Concert on July 23 from 7 – 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase. The Havre de Grace Arts Commission 2013 summer concert series will host Big Cam and the Lifters today (Friday July 19). They are a five piece rock n' roll band. The 50th anniversary of the Havre de Grace Art Show will be celebrated Aug. 16 from 5 – 9 featuring The Rumba Club a Latin jazz group. Wine and beer will be available for sale. Roger and Beverly Southall (my husband and I) visited with the daughter Ruth Ventela and her family, son –in – law Karl and grand-daughter Hannah over the weekend. While visiting they went to the Park Festival in Gavin Park and to the annual open house at Saratoga Racetrack.

Happy sixth wedding anniversary to my Daughter Ruth and Son in Law Karl Ventela who will celebrate on July 28.
