HdG High Marching Band to play in New York City's Veterans Day Parade

The Havre de Grace High School Warrior Pride Marching Band will participate in the New York City Veterans Day Parade this Monday, Nov. 11.

"We are very excited about this trip," band director Rick Hauf wrote in an e-mail. "There is much to do on Sunday, once in New York we will participate in the Mass Band of Pride Rally to honor our veterans at NYC Vietnam Veterans Memorial Plaza, then lunch at Times Square."

The band will leave for New York early Sunday and will attend the musical, "Spider-Man Turn off the Dark," on 42nd Street. After the show there will be a dinner dance cruise on the Circle Line Cruises before the band heads back to its hotel in New Jersey.

On Monday, the band will march in the NYC Veterans Day Parade. Every year this parade marches up Fifth Avenue, where participants step off between 23rd and 29th streets. The parade ends between 50th and 55th streets.

This is a nationally televised parade, and it will be aired live locally on CW Channel 24 Monday at 11 a.m.

This is the first time the Warrior Pride Band has performed in New York City and the first time it has performed in a nationally televised event.
