Concerts in the park, farmers market on agenda in HdG

Aha, June 23 is Let it Go Day. Let's celebrate by going to this evening's free concert in Tydings Park at 7:30 p.m. Bring chairs and picnics. There is no rain location for the Dean Sapp and Harford Express, a four-piece bluegrass band. Next up is the Klassix, a six-piece classic top 40 music band, on June 27.

Happy summer! Summer officially begins with the summer solstice June 21 at 2:46 a.m. in Havre de Grace (and all along the East Coast, of course). Visit Susquehanna State Park or the North Park Joe K Trail for a little of William Shakespeare's "Midsummer's Night Dream" madness, yourself!

My Puerto Rican neighbors reminded me June is National Caribbean-American Heritage Month. During this month, we celebrate the ways that Caribbean-Americans have enriched our society and added to the strength of America. Visit

Stop by the visitor center, for the student quiz of the Lafayette Trail, created by the Havre de Grace Historic Preservation Commission for students in kindergarten to fifth grades and sixth to 12th grades to win an oval sticker "I walked the Lafayette Trail."
