Women's summer lacrosse league enjoys another night of play

The Bel Air Women's Summer Lacrosse League celebrated another full night of play Tuesday at Southampton Middle School.

Junior Division players got the evening started as the Blueberries defeated the Cherries, 6-2.

Alexa Tokofsky, Hannah Cillo and Sarah Zoll each scored two goals for the winners. Lovely Ordonez-Lopez scored both goals for the Cherries.

Blue stays perfect

The Blue Sharks (8-0) remained perfect with a 12-7 win over the Gold Minions (1-7) in Senior Division action.

Lauren Kunkel led the Sharks with four goals and an assist, while Mallory Vogel added three goals and an assist. Amanda Holsclaw had two goals and two assists and Chelsea Wathne also scored twice. Jessie Braverman contributed a goal and assist.

Alexis Susa and Kim Eraso led Gold with three goals apiece and Aloise Diedrich scored once. Nicole Kress dished out two assists and Brittany Packard had one assist.

Michaela Welsh made seven saves for Blue and Roxanne Diedrich finished with 12 for Gold.

Red bombs Green

Red Solo Cups (6-2) had no trouble with the Green Ninjas (1-7), beating them 12-2 in the other Senior Division game. Green was held scoreless in the second half.

Susie Snee scored four goals to lead Red, while Brooke Prater and Alora Gullivan added two goals and an assist each. Robyn Goodman and Kaci Starkloff each had a goal and assist and Ellie Daney and Emily Shumaker added a goal each. Jordan Nichols also had an assist.

Sydney Tudor and Mackenzie Nicodemus accounted for Green's scoring.

Alexis Strouse earned the win in goal, making four saves. Grace Deckert had a much busier night in goal for Green, recording 14 saves.
