The C. Milton Wright Mustangs wrapped up their Chesapeake (upper) Division title Monday afternoon with a home-field victory, 9-0, over second-place Perryville.
By capturing the upper-division title, the Mustangs move on to play Susquehanna (lower) Division champ Havre de Grace in the UCBAC softball championship game at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Harford Tech.
Havre de Grace clinched the lower division with a win Friday over Edgewood.
With Monday's win, in which the Mustangs powered out 12 hits while limiting the visiting Panthers to just three singles, CMW moved to 15-2 overall, and 11-1 in Chesapeake Division play.
Morghan Fulton tossed a complete-game shutout for the Mustangs, striking out five in her 13th win of the season.
CMW's Emily Luzetsky was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and one run, while Caroline Weimer was 3-for-4 with a double and one run. Jenny Lynch belted a one-RBI double and Lauren Hufham was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs. Holli Rutkowski was 1-for-4 with a double, one run and one RBI, while Kyralee Comeaux was 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.
Patterson Mill closes with win
The Patterson Mill girls (10-7 overall, 9-5 Susquehanna) closed out their 2013 regular-season schedule with a victory Monday, beating host North East, 14-8.
Patterson Mill's Danielle Dahl had a career day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three home runs, including a grand slam, three runs scored and an eye-popping 11 RBIs.
Hailey Horton was 1-for-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs and Karla Belcastro was 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. Meredith Price was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs.
Horton threw a complete game, striking out seven and allowing one earned run on seven hits to earn the win.
Bel Air over Aberdeen
In a non-division contest at Aberdeen Monday, the Bel Air Bobcats (9-8 overall, 6-5 Chesapeake) beat the Eagles (8-9 overall, 8-5 Susquehanna), 11-4.
Bel Air hurler Rayn Gibson struck out 11 hitters in a complete-game win.
The Bobcats' Sarah Fleishmann was 2-for-4 with one RBI, while Taylor Scott had two singles and one RBI in the victory. Kelsea Hilditch had two hits, one RBI and one run for the Bobcats, and Gibson had one RBI at the plate. Taylor Hensley had two singles, and Savannah Barnes went 1-for-1.
Aberdeen's Victoria Phelps was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs.
Harford Tech over Fallston
Playing the hosts in a Monday non-division contest, the Harford Tech Cobras (9-7 overall, 3-8 Chesapeake) took a 10-1 victory over the Fallston Cougars (14-4 overall, 12-2 Susquehanna).
Alyssa Hockaday went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in the win, and teammate Karizma Hockaday went 3-for-3 with three RBIs. Ally Venuto was 3-for-4 and Sarah North was 2-for-3. Kaitlyn Vane and Liz Stevens each went 2-for-4.
Fallston's Jenna Weissner was 1-for-3 with a solo home run, and Alex Zorbach went 1-for-3 with a double. Maggie Deckleman finished the game 1-for-2.
