Aberdeen man charged with sexually abusing a minor

An Aberdeen man has been charged with sexually abusing a minor.

Clarence Jacob Barnes Jr., 53, of the 300 block of Center Deen Avenue, is charged with third-degree sex offense, fourth-degree sex offense, sex abuse of a minor and second-degree assault, according to court records.

Barnes allegedly molested the child on April 30.

The child's mother said Barnes did have a previous incident in which he also assaulted the child, according to charging documents.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Barnes was being held on $150,000 bail at the Harford County Detention Center.
