Minor crash involving school bus reported near Havre de Grace

A crash involving a school bus tied up traffic on Route 161 in the Havre de Grace area Monday afternoon. No students were on the bus and no injuries were reported.

The crash was reported at about 4:30 p.m. on Darlington Road [Route 161] and Rock Run Road, according to Harford Fire Blog.

"There were no students on the bus at the time and our driver is not injured," Harford County Public Schools spokeswoman Teri Kranefeld said.

The crash involved a small work truck that crashed into the back of a minivan, which in turn was pushed into the bus, Harford County Sheriff's Office spokesman Edward Hopkins said Tuesday.

"The bus had stopped to make a turn into a private address," Hopkins said. "The minivan stopped but the white work truck kept going, injuring the mom and two children [in the minivan]."

The three in the minivan were taken to Harford Memorial Hospital as a precaution but had minor injuries, he said. The driver of the truck was charged with failing to reduce speed.

Hopkins did not have further details on the incident.
