Havre de Grace man accused of robbing 7-Eleven with flashlight

A Havre de Grace man allegedly robbed a downtown convenience store with a not-so-dangerous weapon, city police spokesman Ofc. Jeff Gilpin said.

The man entered the 7-Eleven in the 500 block of North Union Avenue at 5:20 a.m. Saturday and implied to the employee that he had a weapon, Gilpin said.

"It was a flashlight," Gilpin said.

When the clerk saw the man was armed, but not exactly dangerous, he called 911.

The man then grabbed a bunch of gift cards and ran out, Gilpin said.

Jamar Terrel Coleman, 24, of the 400 block of Battery Drive, was arrested the next day and charged with robbery, theft less than $100 and unauthorized removal of property.

During a bail hearing Monday, District Court Judge Dave Carey ordered him held on $30,000 bond.
