Lawyer offers services to woman held on dog charges [Letter]

This letter was addressed to Mary Root, the 81-year-old Havre de Grace area woman who was recently held in jail overnight on charges related to her letting her dogs run loose. A copy was provided for publication.

I read of your detention in The Aegis on Friday, March 7, regarding your allegedly allowing your dogs to run at-large.

The article mentioned your love of animals and that you are now required to give up your pets. I empathize with you, as I too am an animal lover. Each day, I bring my two King Charles Spaniels to the office with me.

Due to your situation, I would like to offer my services to you free of charge so that I may help you resolve this matter, and possibly for you to keep your pets.

Kindly contact me should you be interested in my representing you in the above-referenced matter, and to further discuss your case.

Thank you for your attention to this letter, and I look forward to hearing from you.
