Aberdeen Police say they are seeking two men in connection with an armed home invasion and attempted robbery on Wednesday evening.
When officers responded to a home the 200 block of Schmechel Street around 11:30 p.m., witnesses said two black men had approached the residents outside of the home near the side door, according to an Aberdeen Police Department news release. One of the men was armed with what appeared to be a short automatic rifle. The men demanded cash and forced the victims into the kitchen area of the house.
Another occupant of the home heard the commotion, went to investigate and was confronted by the suspects as she entered the kitchen, the news release continued. One victim told the suspects the police had been called, and they ran from home and fled on foot. No one was injured and no property was taken.
One suspect is described as a light skinned black male, 20 to 30 years old, approximately 6 feet tall and 165 pounds. He was wearing a tight white T-shirt, black gloves and a black "beanie." He was armed with the rifle and was wearing a mask that covered the lower part of his face.
The other suspect is described as a black male, 20 to 25 years old, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 130 pounds. He was wearing a long baggy white T-shirt, black gloves and a black "beanie." He was also wearing a mask that covered the lower portion of his face.
